We had a 'dead' car that we kept in the driveway for a long time,
hoping we'd figure out a way to have it fixed and we never did.
Finally because the tags were out of date (even though it was in our
driveway!!) someone reported it to Code Compliance department of the
City of Snellville, and we received a Citation saying to get tags up
to date and car working or we'd be fined $1,000.
I ended up donating
the car to the St Vincent dePaul Society charity, so I was able to
claim it as donation on taxes. It was pretty easy, so the next time I
had a dead in the water car, I let them have it too. They come and tow it away!
So if you are harboring an illegal vehicle like I was (LOL!) why not get it somewhere
where it can do some good, instead of sitting unused on your property.
Know any other good places to donate, or people who will come and take a non-working car? Please post it as a Comment here so it can help others.
