Cheap Seats - Snellville Transit Help

Smack gas prices right in the kisser
So, the gas prices are sky high right now. What can you do? I asked The Clean Air Campaign for some tips for us in Snellville.  There could be some alternatives to what you're doing now that could save some money and help our air quality at the same time. You can actually EARN prizes and get rebates for switching to a different way to commuting through special rewards programs!

And awaa-aay we go!

For any solo drivers interested in cleaning up their commute, The Clean Air Campaign can help make the transition easy. Commuters can register at www.logyourcommute.org and earn prizes and $3 a day, up to $100 just for making the switch to a commute alternative through the Commuter Rewards program. They can also use the tool to keep track of their financial savings and sign up to be matched with a car-pooler or van-pooler in their area, through RideSmart. Or, they can visit RideSmart’s direct site at www.MyRideSmart.com to get an instant list of potential carpool partners. Once registration is completed, commuters will receive a list of carpoolers who live and work in the same area.

Snellville commuters interested in riding transit can use Gwinnett County Transit’s Xpress bus route 418.
Route 418 provides commuter coach service from Snellville to Downtown Atlanta via Stone Mountain Freeway to I-285 and I-20 East. The route begins at the Xpress Park & Ride lot at First Baptist Church, 2400 Main Street, E. Snellville, GA 30078, and picks up at the Hewatt Road lot behind Stone Mountain World of Ford on US 78 at Hewatt Road and Oakland Park Blvd. Monthly passes and tickets can be purchased by phone at 770-822-5010 or mail forms (also available on the bus).
Click here for a pdf document of the current rates. Senior citizens age 65 and up have reduced rates and children ride free.

* Transfers to MARTA trains and buses are free. Ask your driver for a transfer slip when you board the bus and pay your fare. For travel from MARTA to Gwinnett County Transit, pay the MARTA fare and ask for a transfer. These transfers will be valid for your travel on Gwinnett County Transit.
