Strong Storm System - Snellville Under Tornado Watch

Snellville is bracing for strong thunderstorms and we are under a Tornado Watch until noon today. Remember, a Watch means that conditions are ripe for tornadoes to develop. A Tornado Warning means that a tornado has been sighted.

According to WSB's Meteorologist Brad Nitz, systems are moving east northeast at 70 MPH. The first part of the storm system is passing the Atlanta area as I write this.  The second part of the storm system will be in the Atlanta metro area sometime after 6 p.m.  Fortunately, the direction and speed of the storm may allow the storm to avoid our area.

Good sources for information are WSB radio at AM 750, and WSB-TV's interactive radar.  For storm and tornado preparedness information, visit Ready.gov.  Please use professional weather information sources for inclement weather warnings, as My Snellville Blog will not be updated regularly with weather warnings.
