Random thoughts about Snellville stuff...

Since it's Friday, I thought I would allow myself some random thoughts and observations.
Not that I think any of my thoughts are earth-shattering, but here's what's in my walnut sized brain today.

Odum Street in Snellville looks terrible (it's the street that runs between South Gwinnett High School and Westminister Presbyterian Church and a bank) ... I don't mean this as a reflection on any of the homeowners there - their yards and gardens look beautiful! In major contrast to the condition of the road. It is so patched up and bumpy it's ridiculous.

In my opinion, Odum St is in the worst condition of any street in the city of Snellville. The pavement has those squiggly black lines of tar on it, which I think are signs to mark a street for replacement/repair, but I'm not sure. I hope so.

The Snellville Post Office's parking lot on Oak Road is still too small. I was hoping someone would magically enlarge it overnight, but no luck. A long time resident of Snellville told me that the post office was already too small by the time it was built. Everyone chuckled, but deep inside, we were feeling the pain.

On a side note, the children of Snellville continue to enjoy the fun of playing with the stanchions (the support poles that hold the line markers). For your convenience, the stanchions are available at both the Snellville Post Office and the Snellville Tag Office on Lenora Church Rd.

The new Snellville Tag Office on Lenora Church Road is beautiful! Great parking too, you won't have to struggle. They even have a drive-thru lane for you to handle your car tag and registration needs. Moms like me, whose kids like to play with the stanchions, appreciate this.
I like having my kid immobilized while I handle pretty much anything. LOL
Inside, the tag office is lovely too - but from the visitor's perspective, it doesn't seem much bigger than their old location on Oak Road was. At least the area where you wait in line...it's not incredibly bigger - it resembled the old location in a way. But I'm sure deeper inside it's much bigger and more efficient. Go check it out, if only for the drinking fountain.
