Thanks to those of you who stopped by and said hi today at the Snellville Farmers' Market. The painting I did raised $55 by silent auction for our food bank! Please come by on Saturday June 12, because as PT Barnum said, "Nothing draws a crowd like a crowd" and if we can get a crowd we can raise more money for the food bank!
If you look at this great overhead photo by Tom Witts (he headed to the top of Snellville City Hall to get this great shot!) My booth is the one under the star. In real life there's not a star over me (unfair!) But just added graphically in this photo. I'll be in the same spot every Saturday through June, September, and October! The Farmers' Market will be held every Saturday from June through October, from 8 am until noon. The first Snellville Farmers' Market is considered a big success -the only problem being that there just wasn't enough produce yet. It's still early in the season, but many people have commented that they bought wonderful peaches, squash, and lettuce. The lady who sells bread was sold out very quickly. Word on the street is that her cheese bread is to die for.
What a great thing for the economy of businesses in Snellville, and this will be a nice draw to the city in the summers to come.
Love the overhead shot!
ReplyDeleteWeasee, that photo is by Tom Witts, a member of the City Council. He went up to the top of City Hall to take that picture.
