Two Friends Plan to Split $115K Georgia Lottery Winnings

Two friends are having a ball since winning a Fantasy 5 jackpot prize. Thomas Hinton of Buford claimed his prize of $115,632 from matching all five winning numbers in the Aug. 7 drawing. He was one of 3 players to each win the jackpot prize from the Fantasy 5 drawing.
Hinton and Fanelli

Hinton explained that he and his friend, Angelo Fanelli, decided to purchase the ticket together.

“I bought it with my buddy, and we decided to do it,” he said. “It was intuition--male intuition that was working that day. Maybe it was premonition.”

Hinton purchased the Quik Pik at Jack’s, 1929 Highway 211 N.W. in Hoschton checked it online. Winning numbers from the Aug. 7 drawing were: 10-28-31-32-36. Winning jackpot tickets were also sold in Norcross and Albany.

“I didn’t know how to react,” Hinton said.

Married with two stepchildren, Hinton anticipates using a portion of his windfall as a down payment for a new home.

His friend intends to pay down bills, he said, and “he’s going to take me to dinner.”

“It’s exhilarating,” he exclaimed.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $12.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. Brett Harrell interview on Examiner.com

What do you plan to do in the State House that will potentially benefit residents of the district you represent?

"I trust all that I do, whether voting on a budget that reduces the burden of government on all Georgians, or recognizing the accomplishments of our Brookwood High School State Football Champions, will benefit the residents of the 106th District. I will also support Gwinnett County, our school system, and the City of Snellville on a number of issues intended to benefit our citizens."

How to get rid of toxic stuff

No, I'm not talking about your mother in law.

This post is for people who are too busy to read the little yellow insert that arrived inside the water bill from Gwinnett County Public Utilities. You see it as extra junk in your bill, I see it as "Yee-haw! Blog content!!!"

The timing is perfect, because the weekend in the Fall is a popular time for cleaning out of garages, where we store most of this dangerous stuff.

Examples of hazardous household wastes are:
  • paints
  • solvents
  • batteries
  • automobile fluids
  • herbicides and pesticides
Do NOT:
  • pour these things down the household drain
  • throw in the garbage
  • pour into ditches, storm drains, or gutters
  • dump or bury
  • burn
DO:
  • use it up
  • give the product to someone else who can use it (I'd use Freecycle.org)
  • avoid buying hazardous products in the future
To report the illicit discharge of Household Hazardous Wastes, or any other pollutants to the storm sewer system, please call Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources 24/7 at 678-376-7000.

For information about reducing, recycling, and disposing of Household Hazardous Wastes in Gwinnett County, contact Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful at 770-822-5187 or visit the website at www.gwinnettcb.org - they can provide helpful tips and disposal locations

For general information about the disposal of HHW, consult the Guide to Best Management Practices for Household Hazardous Waste and Radon by visiting the Pollution Prevention Assistance Division (P2AD) website at www.p2ad.org
