Some days, you just don't feel like going to school. Ask Andrew Cochran about that. The 18-year-old is a graduating senior at South Gwinnett High School this year. Andrew started his school career in Snellville at Britt Elementary and he's never missed a single day of school.
Andrew has been accepted to Georgia Tech but plans to attend Georgia Gwinnett College for a couple years to save money. This past week, he received a Perfect Attendance award in front of an amazed audience at South Gwinnett High School's Honors Ceremony held at Snellville First Baptist Church.
I asked him how he did it, weren't there some days he just felt bad and didn't want to come in? After all, he already received the reward. He could slack off now. But he won't He said, "Yeah, like today I didn't want to come in. I was tired." It hasn't been an easy road. He said that some days he was very sick in the morning, but he'd make himself go to school. I'm sure this sort of perseverance will serve him well throughout his life.
