Gwinnett Schools closed today

I just checked WSBtv.com, and Gwinnett County Schools are closed today. The Georgia Department of Transportation has asked that people at least try to wait until dawn to get out on the roads. It's nothing to take lightly - today a 27-vehicle wreck closed the ramp at I-285/85 northbound.

Will Gwinnett have school tomorrow?

Will Gwinnett County Schools have school tomorrow? That's what everybody is looking for right now (if the site stats are any indication!) I know my kids are doing a lot of wishing, hoping, and praying!

Gwinnett County Schools officially checks out the situation during the wee hours of the morning. Because Gwinnett is such a large county, several school administrators drive the roads in their areas of Gwinnett County and report back on conditions, then a decision is made.

So it's unlikely we will find out anything tonight, but first thing tomorrow (Friday) morning, check out the list of closings on WSBTV.com below:

Gwinnett County Schools will be closed today, according to the WSB Closings list.

I used the last bit of coarse salt that I had on the porch and driveway. I had trouble walking back up the driveway. It's icy, and if you know Gwinnett County Schools, they don't close unless things are really bad. I thought I was doing so well, buying that box of coarse salt back when the weather was warm. But I should have bought 5 or 6 boxes. (Oh durnit, when you need it, you can't get out to the store to get it)

Do Snellville Police and emergency services (and yourself) a favor...stay home and off the roads today!

We heard a kid yelling outside, and when we looked, we discovered it was snowing! Big, fat flakes of snowy goodness. I say any kind of precipitation is a good thing, so bring it on! I don't think the kids will be going to school tomorrow, (but don't depend on this as your school closing report)...only time will tell, and it has always seemed to me that the Gwinnett County School System doesn't close the schools unless they deem it very dangerous.

Snow in Snellville (Maybe)

There's a 90 percent chance of a mixture of rain, sleet and snow for Wednesday night, with lows in the low 30s, according to the AJC....story here

It's sure to be an "interesting" commute Thursday morning.

In Snellville, prayer returned to public schools, where children of all ages lifted up to the Lord their fervent prayers for a snow day.
