Section 17.2. Property maintenance.
But, I will be getting on this problem ASAP. I know the fine for being in non compliance (if you ignore the warning) is about $1,000. I'm going to have to call someone to mow my yard.
I have (had) an electric lawnmower. It was a Black and Decker Lawn Hog mower. Electric lawnmowers are actually a lot more convenient than you think - BUT just like anything else, you have to treat it right for it to last.
Well, I had a neighbor who asked to borrow it. "Love Thy Neighbor" really kicked me in the tush. My neighbor, used to a strong gas mower - really pushed it to its limits and I am pretty sure the motor is burned out. (he sort of paid us back by doing several lawn mowings when he got his gas mower working again)...but anyway, the final result is...no lawnmower. It makes a sound like a dying giraffe that has eaten hubcaps and marbles...that's the best way I can describe the sound. It's horrific, if you didn't get that from my description. ;)
So Hubs and I went back and forth about whether to buy a riding lawnmower or a regular gas or electric push mower. The cost seems pretty high, but I figured out that it would take about 42 mowings for us to be 'paid back' for the expense of it, as the guy we hire to mow our grass charges about $40 each time. Then we discussed whether to get another electric mower or gas push mower. They cost about $200.
I'm not great with gas engines. I can't tell you how many gas mowers we've ruined. I'm for getting another electric mower if we don't get a riding mower. I really don't like the mixing of gas with oil, and the cranking. I am tired before I even start mowing. The electric mower is a lot like vacuuming. I can handle it.
Our final decision was to call our mowing guy and let that be the last cut of the season, and we'll keep our eyes peeled for good deals on mowers for next year.
Well I better go ahead and call my mower dude.
He'll be cutting my grass on Saturday, the whole neighborhood will rejoice!
