After I saw this video yesterday, it haunted me all day. So you will want to exercise caution if your children are around. It's hard to watch. It didn't happen in Snellville, or even in Georgia - so I wasn't sure yesterday if I wanted to post about this or not...but decided that I should, because it effects us all as Americans.
In Hartford CT, surveillance cameras caught video of a 78 year old man being hit by a car while he was crossing the street. He was hit hard and knocked over the car then lies on the ground motionless.
What's shocking is that nobody does anything.
A few cars drive by slowly and look, and some people come out of
businesses to look and then they go back inside. That poor man is now paralyzed.
"Pedestrians gawk but appear to do nothing.
One driver stops briefly but then pulls back into traffic.
A man on a scooter slowly circles the victim before zipping away."
NOBODY CALLED POLICE!!!
'Scuse my French, but what the hell?!? Even if it's an area where
people don't trust the police, you'd think that they would step in themselves.
"It's a clear indication of what we have become," Hartford Police
Chief Daryl Roberts said. "When you see a man laying in the street
who's been hit by a car, people just drive around him, walk by him
and then you want to say, 'What are the police doing?'
Well, that's not a police problem.
"At the end of the day we've got to look at ourselves
and understand that our moral values have now changed,"
Roberts said. "We have no regard for each other."

UPDATE: Now they think that 4 calls may have come in to 911 about this hit and run
