An arrest has been made in the Brookwood High School arson case.
Matthew Perrin Cooper , age 17 of Snellville, turned himself in on Wednesday.
Charges are: Criminal Damage to Property - 2nd Degree and Arson 1st Degree.
I hope that he'll take a new direction in his life after this. Turning himself in was a good sign that he will.
....More on this from Fox Atlanta
Matthew Cooper is a very good boy, who has made a bad choice. Who of you has not made a bad choice. His grades are good, he is good, his family is good, his fellow soccer players like him....hello, this is a once in a life miserable mistake. Do throw the baby out with the bath water. Let's move forward and help him get this behind him, because he has a great future. Let's give him support, friendship (which his fellow partners in this crime have not) and get him going back to the ground he was covering.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janis, I'm sure he will. As I wrote in the post, the fact that he turned himself in was a really good thing. I'm SO thankful that nobody was hurt or killed, because it would be very hard for Matthew to come back from that. When kids get together, they often make knee jerk decisions to do something that seems fun at the time.
