Gas leak closes Snellville Main St/US78

This is really getting ridiculous. See list of all the times (links at end of this post) - I've posted about gas line breaks and leaks in the same area. I'm not an expert, but it seems like some kind of change is needed. Maybe the gas lines need to be marked differently, the construction crews need more training, or both.
  • Crews found a strong odor of natural gas and an active leak on arrival.
  • West Main Street was closed between Henry Clower Blvd and McGee Rd. Officials said they expect it to reopen by 10:30 am.
  • 15 area businesses were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
  • Power was cut to the immediate area by Walton EMC, to eliminate any potential for an ignition source.
  • The leak was caused by a contracting crew digging near the roadway
