Search for man who fell into Lake Lucerne has been called off

UPDATE:

Rescue operations had to be called off for a man who fell off a boat on a lake near Snellville yesterday.
Lake Lucerne is a 40-acre private lake located near US-78 in Lilburn, Ga.

Eyewitnesses reported that a man and woman were on a pontoon boat with a child, and that the couple seemed to be horsing around. At some point, both adults fell overboard. The woman was able to come to the surface, and emergency responders were able to save her by throwing a rescue line.

The man was seen struggling in the water, but then went under the surface. Divers from DeKalb County joined Gwinnett Rescue personnel, but by 9 p.m., heavy lightning storms had rolled into the Snellville/Lilburn area. The search had to be called off, due to weather and darkness.

The man and woman were friends, and the 10-year-old boy is the son of the woman who was rescued.
The names of the people involved have not been made public.

Divers planned to return to the lake this morning to resume search operations.
