A wheelchair-bound man was home at the time, his wife arriving on the scene later. Both residents were understandably distraught by the death of the family pet. The fire was brought under control by approximately 6:45 p.m. but firefighters remained on the scene.
The fire is believed to have begun near the rear of the house and spread through the attic to the garage. All the family pets cannot be fully accounted for until the structure cools.

I am glad no humans were injured...but I sure hate they lost their pets. Very sad.
