Registration for the police escorted Ride for Ray is between 9:30-10:15 a.m. Oct. 23 at the parking lot of the First Baptist Church of Snellville with the ride beginning at 10:30 a.m. The cost is $25 per bike with an additional $10 for a passenger. The one-and-a-half hour ride ends at the Corralejo Mexican Grill and Bar in Grayson where there will also be door and raffle prizes.
....In addition, the Snellville Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association is helping raise money for Gunter through a "Tips for Cops" event from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at O'Charley's restaurant on Highway 124 in Snellville. During those hours, patrons will be served by uniformed officers and all tips, plus a percentage of total sales, will be donated to the Gunter Family Fund. They also will have a supplementary bake sale at the restaurant during those hours with the proceeds being donated to the fund.
