Theresa Allen receives Volunteer Appreciation Award

On October 30th, Theresa Allen was presented with a Volunteer Appreciation Award from the Snellville Farmers' Market Committee. Theresa was always willing to lend a helping hand to everyone at the Snellville Farmers' Market. She helped me set up my tent a couple times too!

Many appreciation awards were presented Saturday, including
to one to a vendor who traveled from Tennessee each week, a vendor with the most unique produce (from Uganda), and a vendor with the best product presentation.

The Snellville Farmers' Market began as an idea in January with a few people discussing it at Gretchen Schulz's kitchen table. They wondered if they could get enough vendors, and wondered if people would come to a farmers' market in Snellville  It's funny to think about that now, because the Snellville Farmers' Market has been a huge success in Snellville.

The market has had plenty of vendors, and the farmers' market has brought many tourists here who appreciate locally-grown produce and the sense of community here in Snellville. Positive, smiling people like Theresa are largely the reason the Snellville Farmers' Market has been so successful.

The Snellville Farmers' Market will begin its new season on May 14, 2011.
