Snellville residents: Limit mayor’s voting powerAtlanta Journal Constitution - GA, USA" To end the gridlock plaguing the Snellville City Council, residents say just take Mayor Jerry Oberholtzer’s vote away. ..."
Mayor Oberholtzer didn't attend but has said he won't give up his vote without a fight.
I have to admit I really get a kick out of these news articles that say "120 residents packed City Hall." 120 residents would have packed our former city hall location, but I don't know if I'd really use the word "packed" now.
Snellville has some 18,000 residents.
So, 17,880 residents did not pack city hall. 17,880 residents did not show up.
I would bet that 17,000 Snellville residents do not know or care who Jerry Oberholtzer is.
This is not meant to sound like an insult to Mayor O, it's just that I would be really surprised if people in Snellville are very aware of their local government.
