4 thoughts on Sunday sales in Snellville

  • From 1998 to 2004, before LBTD (Liquor by the drink) in Snellville, there were 1,782 DUI's
  • From 2005 to 2010, after LBTD passed in Snellville,  there were 784 DUI's (DUI's went down)
  • These figures show that Sunday sales in Snellville will not increase crime, DUI's, nor the police department's operating budget! Even if it did (but it probably wouldn't, as these figures show) the Snellville Police Department could handle it. They're professionals.
  • Human beings will continue to be guilty of child abuse, child neglect, spousal abuse, battery, assault, etc...even if all alcohol and knowledge of alcohol was wiped from the face of the earth.
Early voting ends on July 16, 2010. If you live within the city limits of Snellville and think restaurants here should be given the chance to succeed, expand, hire more employees, bring more quality businesses to Snellville, build our economy and take some of the property tax burden off homeowners, then vote YES at Snellville City Hall.

Break down the barriers to business succeeding in Snellville, and we'll see more businesses thriving in Snellville.

An open letter to First Baptist Church of Snellville Pastor Steve Foster

I find your church’s crusade against Sunday sales of alcoholic beverages as troubling as it is hypocritical. Religious freedom is one this country’s founding precepts and I find it troubling that you show neither regard nor compassion for that precept as it applies to people who do not share your beliefs. Such disregard is wrought with hypocrisy, as you would have others denied the same freedom of belief that you enjoy.

You are certainly entitled to your belief that a person should not consume alcoholic beverages on Sunday. You are not entitled to force your beliefs on others. I find it an extreme disappointment that an organization that has promoted itself as “The Caring Place” has such little regard for people with religious beliefs that differ from yours.
