Pond at the Hudgens |
Saturday, August 7
10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Participants will help create a large transparent window scene of a koi pond, meant to complement the existing koi pond in the sculpture garden.
There will also be a fun make & take art project for kids to create their own koi fish collage from colorful scraps of magazine, using the same basic techniques used by Tom Nakashima in creating the large scale collage works of art in the exhibit.
Both art projects will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., so be sure to come early in order to enjoy those activities. Participation is free and open to the public.
Family Day also includes a self-directed scavenger hunt in the garden, access to the children's Art Zone, and free entry to all the current exhibits.

Here are my easy directions -
How to get there from Snellville: Take Scenic Highway 124 toward Lawrenceville, but turn left on Sugarloaf Parkway (by the McDonald's). Then take Sugarloaf all the way into Duluth. Turn left into the parking lot for the Gwinnett Arena. Look for the building with what looks like a giant robot attached to the front (how could you miss that, right?)
