Back to School in Snellville
I have two kids starting high school this year, and one starting Kindergarten. The high schoolers missed their bus - we misunderstood where it would stop, and apparently it doesn't go down our street. I know their day will be stressful. We went to orientation last week, but we were late - and they didn't even have time to test their locker combinations. It's a bad sign when you even get lost at the orientation.
My Kindergarten son climbed on the school bus like he's been doing it every day of his life. No tears, no clinging, he was more interested in the school bus than his mommy. He's the best prepared for Kindergarten than the older kids were. He's gone to a really good Pre-K program, and also went to "Kinder Camp" at his new school (Kinder Camp was 3 half-days). He's met his teacher, seen his room, and is very comfortable with everything.
But I wasn't prepared for my son to get on the school bus with such ease. He's supposed to at least look at me wistfully through the bus window! Waaah!
Fortunately, I have a 2 year old to keep me occupied today, and he has a fever of 101, so he still needs his mommy. When he goes to Kindergarten, I guess I will need to get a life.

I expected traffic to be a nightmare this morning with school back in, but not only was it not, it was VERY light! Hope this is a trend for the school year but I am not holding my breath!
