Foundation will auction sports memorabilia to raise money for local schools

The South Gwinnett Cluster Foundation today announced that it is staging its annual fundraiser at 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Summit Chase Country Club.

The fundraiser will feature an evening of socializing, heavy hors d'oeuvres, an auction (including airline tickets, sports and entertainment industry memorabilia, dining and recreational opportunities, professional services, products for the home and much more.)

The presentation will highlight the foundation’s mission, which is to establish partnerships with schools in the South Gwinnett Cluster and with residents and business communities to promote and fund academic initiatives for the enrichment, growth and success of students.

The foundation is continually looking to secure sufficient funding to build an endowment that can be used to fulfill vital needs for the six schools that comprise
the South Gwinnett Cluster (South Gwinnett High School, Snellville Middle School, Britt Elementary, Norton Elementary, Magill Elementary and Rosebud Elementary).

The foundation’s priorities are to provide funding for scholarships, educational grants, mentoring programs, academic support materials, extra-curricular needs, school safety programs and immediate needs for which public funds may not be available in a timely manner.

Tickets for the auction are $20.00 each and can be obtained in advance by calling (770) 310-0429. As a bonus, each ticket includes entry into a raffle for $100 cash and other prizes.
