GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (MyFOX ATLANTA) - A Lawrenceville woman was injured Monday when the pile of leaves she was burning in her yard got out of control. Firefighters said outdoor fires are a big problem, especially with the current dry, hot weather.
Captain Tommy Rutledge of the Gwinnett County Fire Department said the burn season runs from October to the end of April, but due to this year's cold and wet winter, no one burned anything so now people are rushing to burn things before the season ends.
