The Snellville Farmers' Market has received a top ranking from Farmland.org as one of the top 5 farmers' markets in the state of Georgia. Coming in at the #2 spot on the list is a thrill for many Snellville citizens, but especially those involved in the Snellville Tourism and Trade Association. The Snellville Tourism and Trade Association brought the idea of the farmers' market to a reality for Snellville only this year. The results are gleaned from online votes placed by visitors to the website, Farmland.org.
"Twelve months ago, this farmers' market was just a dream, but thanks to the hard work of our citizens and volunteers, our market is a thriving, must-be-at destination on Saturday mornings in Snellville." Said Snellville Mayor, Jerry Oberholtzer.
"The SFM was one of the first endeavors that was undertaken by the new Snellville City Council." Snellville City Council Member Tom Witts said, echoing the Mayor's exuberance. "We selected an incredible committee and the rest is Snellville history."
The Snellville Farmers' Market takes place each Saturday from June through October. Just look for the festival tents in front of Snellville City Hall, at the intersection of US78/Main Street and Oak Road. The Snellville Farmers' Market begins at 8 a.m. and ends at noon on Saturdays.
