Help Us Color in the Future
Above are two pictures of Snellville. The one on the left is Snellville in the present. A town full of warm and welcoming people but without a true center to call “home.” On the right is a beautiful vision of what The Towne Center @ Snellville could be; a vibrant gathering place filled with graceful trees and bubbling fountains. It is a grand design, but it’s missing something—you!
People are the life, the color, of a community, and that is why we need your support on May 2. Join the City in celebrating a new day for Snellville as we unveil the complete Towne Center Plan, along with a newly branded identity for the city. Come to see the place that you call “home” in an all new light.
This event is the final culmination of the Community Design Charrette that took place in February. The charrette process involved community members and leaders in sharing their ideas for an ideal town center with professional town planners who would custom-fit a new plan to the town. The ideas created during the collaborative charrette process heavily informed the final plan. The town planners heeded the call for a new retail district, more green space, expanded housing selection, and a way to avoid traffic when walking or driving. The final product is a Towne Center that will encourage interaction among neighbors, provide businesses with attractive new location options, and create a sense of community. If you participated in the Community Design Charrette, this is a chance to see the fruits of your labor. If you did not participate, the May 2 meeting is a great chance to learn about the plan.
During the 6:00 PM meeting on May 2, design firm Clark, Patterson and Lee will present the final plan for the Snellville Towne Center and EOS Marketing and Communications will unveil a new brand for the city.
Come enjoy a “Coffee & Confections” celebration, the company of your neighbors, and be a part of history in the making as we color in the future of Snellville.
