New city motto, new police station, and foreclosures

Someone wrote this Vent to the AJC:
"Snellville, worried about a slogan, they should be worried about the 1,200 + homes foreclosed, and why the *&*(& are they building a new police station? Please vote them out!"
I love explaining stuff to Venters in this blog. I just wish people would ask someone who knows what's going on before they vent.

First of all, $5 Million was set aside from the 2004 SPLOST to go toward the new Snellville public safety complex. The project is estimated to cost between 1.8 and 6.8 million dollars. [link]

Snellville has never had a police station that was originally built to be a police station - they have always re-purposed old buildings. It is high time they had the best tools they need to do their job.

Sorry about the foreclosures, but the police station has nothing to do with that. The new motto has nothing to do with foreclosures or the new police station.

I wish the Atlanta Journal and Constitution would provide explanations to these "Venters," so everyone could become better informed, instead of just spreading false information through a grapevine of clueless (although probably well-meaning) people.

Carry on.
