Bobby Howard declares candidacy for Snellville City Council

From press release:

Bobby Howard Declares Candidacy for Snellville City Council

Bobby Howard, a 16-year resident and business owner in Snellville has declared his candidacy for Snellville City Council.  Howard will run for Post-4 to fill the remaining two years of Mayor Pro Tem Barbara Bender's term (Bender is required to vacate her council seat to run for Mayor).

"I have lived in Snellville with my family for 16 great years, and during that time we have experienced the ebb and flow of Snellville's landscape, government and population.  I think that most of us agree that Snellville has changed", said Howard.  "With some very positive changes over the past 18 months, now is the time for united and committed leadership, to guide Snellville to an even greater future", explains Howard.

As an owner of a home repair and maintenance business, Howard has substantial experience in project management and developing sensible solutions for a variety of challenges; working within budgets of all sizes is a daily practice of his business.  Howard hopes to apply these skills as a member of council to continue the city's positive and confident momentum.

Howard notes that he will support a responsible growth plan for Snellville's future.  "Economic development is a crucial need in our City and we must continue to be proactive."  Howard cites that, "new and expanding businesses create employment opportunities, generate tax revenue, and in some cases redevelop unsightly buildings and commercial areas into vibrant, revitalized areas of our community."

As a long-time supporter of The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Association and Care-for-Cops, public safety has always been a top priority for Howard.  "The Snellville Police Department does an outstanding job in keeping our city secure, and making Snellville a place where folks feel safe,"says Howard.  "I will actively support the police department to ensure that it is equipped to meet the challenges of the future.  I firmly believe that if a community feels safe, it will thrive and prosper," affirms Howard.

Bobby and his wife Nancy have been married for 27 years and reside in the Harbour Oaks subdivision.  Bobby and Nancy have one daughter, Mindi, married to Chris, and one granddaughter, Reese.   The Howard's attend Cannon United Methodist Church where Bobby is a Past Chairman of Board of Trustees, and participates in as many international mission trips as his schedule permits.

Bobby believes that Snellville has the potential to become a City of Excellence and that now is the time to ensure committed leadership in order to achieve that goal.  If elected, Howard commits to "work hard everyday to promote Snellville because I CARE and Snellville is HOME."
