How to get rid of old furniture in Snellville

My neighbor's had a couch at the curb for several weeks - in this case, since before we had snow here. I even mentioned it in this March 3rd blog post.

If you need to use a string trimmer to cut the grass that's grown up around the furniture in your yard, then it might be time to figure out how to get rid of it.

There are a couple ways to get rid of old furniture in Snellville:
  1. Take it to the Snellville Recycling Center. Located at the back of Briscoe Park, you can take old furniture there and drop it off. Free for Snellville residents.
  2. Tie or pin a couple of the Snellville blue trash bags to the piece of furniture. You can buy the blue bags at Publix grocery store in Snellville. A box of the bags is about $25 (I haven't bought them in awhile so I'm not 100% certain of that price), but it's about that. You will only need about 2 of them for a loveseat. The trash company will pick it up on the next trash day.
Another option open to everyone (but before furniture is destroyed by being left outside) is to go to www.Freecycle.org and locate a local group. You can post items that you'd like to give away. Someone else might be glad to have your old sofa.
