Tomorrow, the Consul General of France in Atlanta, Pascal Le Deunff, will bestow the French Legion of Honor upon 3 World War II veterans from Georgia, one of which is Mr. Charles F. Smith from Snellville.
Mr. Smith has been decorated for saving the lives of 6 men through his courageous actions in August of 1944.
Mr. Smith said, "You don't go to war to win medals - you go what you're trained to do, what you have to do at the time."
You can listen to an interview of Mr. Smith with WABE/PBA 30's Steve Goss here.
