Citizens asked to support their libraries
"The library administration and all levels of staff have fully recognized the reality of the economic atmosphere in which we are delivering library service to the citizens of Gwinnett," Said Nancy Stanbery-Kellam, Executive Director of the Gwinnett Library System. "This realization has come to us not just through budget discussions, but also through the increased numbers of customers we help each day and the nature of their needs."
Some of the ways a reduced budget has affected the public are a reduction in weekly service hours from 71 to 53, less access by citizens to computers, Internet and wireless connectivity, less materials from which to choose, and fewer programs for children, students adults and families.
The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners public hearing will be held on Tuesday, December 14 at 7 p.m.at the Gwinnett County Justice and Administration Center Auditorium, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville, Ga. 30046

One of the services the library helps the public with is job searching, helping them prepare resumes, etc.
