US 78 has reopened - 4 gas leaks have occurred

Great news, US 78 has been able to reopen. Looks like they fixed it fairly quickly. It gets frustrating, because it has happened several times now. I have "expressed" my feelings on this topic previously...Are so many gas leaks typical during construction?

A natural gas leak closed US 78 at Highpoint Road in Snellville for more than two hours Wednesday.

Here is the history of the gas leaks in Snellville over the past months. As you can see, today's leak/break was the 4th time this has happened, the 2nd time in nearly the same location.

INCIDENT: Feb 19, 2009 - 78 and Highpoint Rd

INCIDENT: July 20, 2009 - 78 and Knollwood

INCIDENT: Sept 29, 2009 - West Main Street was closed
between Henry Clower Blvd and McGee Rd

October 1, 2009- Meeting was held to discuss gas line problem

INCIDENT: January 20, 2010 - 78 and Highpoint Road

Thus endeth my analysis. Seems like there is a good money making and life saving invention in this somewhere. A better gas line or a gas line that has signals in it or something that stops this from happening?

I don't know, don't look at me, I didn't say I was going to invent anything! Quick, someone with a good scientific brain, give us some ideas. Got anything? Nope? Me neither.
