Jimmy Norton of the Evermore CID read his resignation from the Evermore board at the Snellville City Council meeting tonight. Stating that he felt that "No meaningful progress had been made for the last few years," Norton tendered his resignation, saying it was effective upon his replacement. Norton said that for many years, the CID had been on track, but that was no longer the case. He ended his statements by saying he hoped that an entirely new board could be selected.
Evermore CID Director, Emory Morsberger explained that the group as a whole wanted to be replaced, saying it could be called a "planned group retirement, if you will." He continued by stating he felt it was "time for new blood" in order for the entity to have revitalization. The group hopes to have an election in January.
Morsberger: "We have a lot of things to do still, and new blood, new ideas are welcome."

Emanuel is not in favor of replacing Evermore CID board members with "new blood," explaining in his article Gwinnett Evermore CID - A Solution Becomes a Problem: "It’s more than naïve to expect that some of the current directors will simply walk away and not try to exert any influence on the election of new members to the Board of Directors."
