What do you do when Halloween falls on a Sunday?

What do you do when Halloween is on a Sunday? A lot of people wonder about whether it's okay to trick or treat on a Sunday. Some people think you would then expect trick-or-treaters on Saturday.

According to the City of Snellville, October 31st is Halloween, whether it falls on a Sunday or not.  My friend Trish told me that she called Snellville City Hall and they told her that yes, Halloween would be whatever day of the week October 31st happens to fall on.  I didn't even think of calling City Hall.
So there you have it. Now just don't let your greed for Kit-Kats take you to houses of people you do not know, and an adult should go with you.

Families wanting a safer and fun alternative to trick-or-treat may want to try Snellville First Baptist Church's big community "Trunk Or Treat" event on Sunday, October 31st. [details on this and more Halloween weekend events here]

Zoar United Methodist to have Trunk or Treat event

      This post is from 2009

Zoar UMC will have a "Trunk or Treat" event on Saturday, Oct 31 from 5-8 pm. It’s a great, SAFE, way to Trick or Treat.

Zoar UMC, 3895 Zoar Church Road, Snellville, GA 30039

      For more information, visit www.zoarumc.org

I love taking my kids to Trunk or Treat events. It's like regular trick-or-treating, but safer, because church members set up their cars in the parking lot and you trick or treat from car to car...the vehicles are usually decorated for Halloween. This is my favorite way to take the kids trick-or-treating now.

      Trunk or Treat Event

What is Trunk or Treat? It's like trick or treating, except instead of going from house to house, you go from car trunk to trunk in a parking lot (usually at a church). We tried for the first time last year. Now I think I prefer it.

It's a lot of fun for everyone involved, because the people who give out the candy actually WANT to have trick or treaters come to their car. People decorate their cars, and it's really festive.

Cannon United Methodist Church will have a Trunk or Treat event on Friday, October 31, 2008 from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm. This allows the event to finish up in plenty of time so you can still do the traditional door-to-door trick or treating if you want to do that.

Cannon UMC will also have a pizza dinner served from 5:30 pm until 6:15 pm for $2 per person.
There will be a Veggie Tales movie playing for the kids to enjoy while they eat.

Cannon Church is located at 2424 Webb Gin House Rd, Snellville GA 30078 (convenient to Ronald Reagan Parkway).

For more information, please see Cannon United Methodist Church's website.

      Cruel Halloween Pranks

I was skimming the comments in Rick Badie's AJC blog article about Halloween and found this comment. Please tell me he was joking, but this is pretty darn funny!

"As usual, I gave out ice cubes for Halloween. It’s cheap, and also fun to watch the little brats cry when the bottom of their bag gives out a few doors later."

Old Lutheran goes undercover at Catholic church event

Did you do anything for Halloween?
We went to the 'trunk or treat' event at St Oliver's Catholic Church for the first time.
The weather was wonderful and the people were great. They've totally gotten over Luther's 95 thesis thing. LOL

A trunk or treat is basically trick or treating, but church members park their vehicles and have their trunks/hatchbacks etc decorated. I don't think I'll ever take my kids door to door again, this was so much more fun, because everyone involved wanted to be there, and I didn't have to be so concerned about candy safety or traffic!

I put a few photos here : LINK

      Hallowe'en Hangman Game

      Bored?

You can clean my house for me,
but why not play some Halloween Hangman instead?

I didn't do very well, my best score was 75. But it's hard to guess when the skeleton is taunting you!

      Snellville Halloween Events

      Pardon our dust and cobwebs...but....

      This post is ancient...
However, do not despair - we can help!

If you'd like the not-so-scary stuff you can do for Halloween weekend 2010, check out this newer blog post!

If you are looking for the creepy, crawly, scare yourself silly stuff, see Snellville Ghosts blog for haunted houses and all that fun stuff. If you pee your pants, don't blame me.

Thanks for visiting. If you find what you were looking for, don't forget to subscribe to updates before you leave!

      ----------Stuff down here is old-----------
Nothing to see here folks, please move on with your life.
Please do not cry because this stuff is from 2007. Yes, I could remove it, but that would be like removing pieces of Snellville's history, a Halloween tapestry rich in tradition...sniff....so therefore I keep this older stuff.
But you can ignore it. Move along now... :)

If you're looking for Halloween events in Snellville,
check out the MySnellvilleBlog Calendar of Events.

At least two local churches are having 'Trunk or Treat' events - church members have signed up their vehicles to participate, and instead of going house to house, you go through the parking lot trunk to trunk.

The two churches participating are Snellville First Baptist Church on Snellville's Main Street, and Saint Oliver Plunkett Catholic Church on Brooks Drive.

For time and additional details, please see the Calendar.

If I have missed an event that you think should be included, please email me and let me know. I'll be glad to add your church or club/neighborhood's special events.
